2 Time New England "Coach of the Year"

When Ken DeStefanis took over as Head Wrestling Coach at Central Connecticut State University, the program moved into the national limelight. His record ranked him among the top twenty wrestling coaches in the nation. His teams won three Division I New England Wrestling Championships as well as an East Coast Conference Championship. DeStefanis has coached 16 New England Champions, 12 East Coast Champions, 30 NCAA Division I National Tournament qualifiers and had 12 wrestlers named as "National Freshman All-Stars" by Amateur Wrestling News. DeStefanis, who comes from a nationally known wrestling family, has a career that includes teaching and coaching at the elementary, junior, high school and college levels. He has also coached the Connecticut National Freestyle & Greco teams and was named U.S.A. Wrestling Connecticut "Man of the Year". He has won six New England freestyle championships and together with his brothers have won over 125 tournaments including six New York State H.S. titles and a NCAA National Championship.

Ken has established both the Competitive Edge Camp Scholarship program now in its 13th year and the DeStefanis Family/ Competitive Edge Scholarship program awarded to college bound seniors, now in its 12th year.

Ken has been directing The Competitive Edge Wrestling Camp and Clinics in New England for over twenty years.
