Our Programs / Levels

Team Camp

Our team camp features DUAL MEET COMPETITION as well as all sessions in our regular camp including technique sessions, strength training, weight management, injury prevention, mental preparation, and camp tournament. During dual meets, wrestlers are paired by weight and experience. Dual meets will be followed by a critique session with your assigned team coaches. If you are interested in our team camp but are not with a full team, you can combine to form one or we will place you on a team.

Intensive

Designed for wrestlers with 4 or more years experience who want an intensified program that combines technique, mental preparation, running, drilling, control positions, peaking for tournaments, nutrition, strength training in, during, and post season, goal setting and weight control. Wrestlers will learn methods of training by experiencing them.

Advanced

Wrestlers with 4 or more years experience will progress at a faster rate with skills drills and strength training.

Intermediate

Wrestlers with 2-3 years experience will be taught proper techniques and training skills by our outstanding staff at the correct pace.

Beginner

All champions must have a basic background. Beginners and first year wrestlers will learn basics from our champions. This group will be closely supervised. Wrestling game activities will be incorporated during teaching to ensure a FUN learning environment while teaching concepts, principles and wrestling skills.

The Competitive Edge Wrestling Camp is New England's premier camp. Our nationally certified staff have been working with the "Competitive Edge" system for years. Our experts will examine every aspect of becoming a champion: technique, takedowns, escapes, reversals, pinning, freestyle, strength training, nutrition, diets, tactics and philosophies for wrestling.  Additionally, there are many opportunities for fun and games in between wrestling sessions.

Our camp is held at the historic Pomfret School, in Pomfret, Connecticut - a private high school. We have access to state of the art gym and strength facilities, in addition to standard amenities in the dorms and dining hall. 

All campers are placed into appropriate training groups during the first orientation session.  Our camp is intended for wrestlers of 7 years old to 18 years old.  After the initial session, coaches routinely rotate among the separate groups providing appropriate levels of instruction to their specific camp group.  Please see "About the Camp" for our different levels of instruction.
